First time I met with the breed Rough Collie was a long time ago, back in 1978. In that time I was a member of the Dogs Rescue Society. One day some friends from the Society brought me a wounded female collie. They explained that her owners, husband and wife had a huge fight. The Collie (her name was Vaska), tried to help the woman, but her husband suddenly took Vaska out and cut through her throat. Somehow the woman succeeded to bring the dog to the veterinary where she was operated.
The woman was too scared to bring Vaska home again, so she called the Dogs Rescue Society to help her. They decided to bring the collie to me so I could take good care of her. I tried to do my very best.
In the next days she slowly recovered and we became best friends. She knew I was trying to help her and she was very thankful for that. She accompanied each step I took from the day she first came in to my life. After three weeks her owner visited us and when she saw how Vaska was devoted to me she decided to let her stay with me, thats how she became my first collie.
After Vaska died a few years later, I had several different breeds: Slovenian Karst Shepherd, German Shepherd and Pekingese, but they were more my mother's dogs than mine. The German Shepherd died when he was seven years old because of poison. After his death I decided to have a Rough collie again.
I started with Maca, soon joined with new members to our family: Pamela, Toby, Pegy and recently Tosca. Rough collies have become my big love.
I have been involved with dogs and Kinology more and more over the years. In 2002 I passed judge exam. Until now I judged at many shows, the latest was in Finland. I'm a judge for 1. and 2. group. In 2004 I was elected for president of Slovene British Sheepdog Society. I am also a member of the Breeding comitee for British sheepdogs, German Shepherd breeding comitee and Shepherds breeding comitee.
In 2005 I changed the prefix name of my kennel to Lidok's. A new name with a new start! Im planning to make high quality selections among Collies and manage to breed dogs with strong character, beauty and health.
